REMINDER

TREK Fireside

Sunday, June 28th @ 7PM at the Stake Center

Come Dressed in TREK Attire

(Parents Invited)

IT WILL BE AMAZING!!!!

32 hours to TREK!

We wanted to remind you of a few of things before Thursday.

  1. FIRST OF ALL - I COULDN'T BE MORE EXCITED ABOUT THE FUN AND WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE YOU ALL HAVE IN FRONT OF YOU!!!!! YOU ARE JUST GOING TO HAVE AN AWESOME TIME!!!
  2. Reminders: Start to Hydrate TODAY by drinking more liquids then you generally would drink... you can build up a store of liquid in your body by doing this that will assist you throughout TREK.
  3. Each of you need a pocket knife... The Blade cannot be longer than 4" in length. Just a simple little pocket knife that is needed for a part of TREK
  4. Please arrive at the TREK site before 5 PM on Thursday. If you arrive after 5 PM there is a high likehood that you will miss out on a part of the TREK due to your family being on the trail. Early registration will be between 4 and 4:30 PM for the General Trekkers..
  5. Parental Units your arrival time is 4 PM at the latest.- -
  6. Is your MEDICAL RELEASE FORM IN??? If not you - due to Church Policy - you will not be allowed to participate on TREK... (Contact your YM/YW Leaders for forms)
  7. LASTLY... in order to keep everyone safe... We had to establish some TREK rules... We aren't trying to be mean... just trying to make this as close to a real pioneer experience as possible for you.

At the sign in desk at the TREK site you will be asked if you are willing to follow the TREK rules and if so you will sign a piece of paper. I thought it might be a good idea to let you all see what you are saying you will follow.. haha

Here is the link to the TREK Rules... E-mail me if you have any questions on any of these rules. http://www.box.net/shared/b7b6xbusa0

Again they are there to keep us all safe.

Most important - Know we are going to have FUN FUN FUN

Equipment Updates

A few items with regards to equipment:
  1. I have been informed that I'm "out of step" with the times... Jeans are no longer referred to as "Levi's" that I had listed on the banned list. Jean's, Levis' or anything made out of that type of material is not allowed on trek... Hit Goodwill for an old pair of worn out Dockers
  2. We forgot two essential things - A spoon (metal or plastic) and some of you may want to pack some gloves for pulling on the rope or the handle of the handcart.
  3. On the equipment list it mentions bringing some old scriptures as well as your favorite church magazine. With the focus being on keeping up with the Book of Mormon reading challenge - all you need is an Old Book of Mormon (not the magazine)
  4. Lastly - on the equipment list was a fanny pack (yes I got made fun of for including this) - However I know your parents use to use them and your family probably has one of them laying around the house somewhere. You really need a fanny pack. You will need your hands free to push or pull the cart. But also you will need readily available your rain poncho, your pocket knife (part of an activity), your cup for drinking water, and possibly your gloves mentioned above. The young ladies MAY be able to get by with some pockets on their apron. But we still recommend a fanny pack for all. (No backpacks)
Keep checking your e-mails... more to come!!!

IT’s TIME TO ROLL!!!!

Be sure to get your equipment list from this website:
